Youth Philanthropy Process
A Working Partnership To Support and SUSTAIN Youth Giving…

The key to the success of the Youth Philanthropy Model is the intentional partnership that is created between the community based youth serving organization, fiscal sponsor, and training agency. This triad-partnership allows for a shared responsibility for the success of the program, and prevents the challenge of one agency or organization having to provide an exhaustive amount of time or resources.

Specifically, the Youth Philanthropy Model requires approximately 20-30 hours per month of time. This time is generally divided as follows:

Community Based Youth Serving Organization (5-10 hours per month)
- Outreach and communication with youth philanthropists, duplication of training and meeting materials, ordering of food or snacks for meetings, attendance at monthly youth philanthropy training meetings, planning and communication with Fiscal Sponsor and Training Agency.

Fiscal Sponsor (5-10 hours per month)
- Coordination of program budget, reimbursement or payment of food or meeting materials as needed, facilitation of one grant cycle distributions per year (January), attendance at monthly youth philanthropy training meetings (optional), planning and communication with Community Based Youth Serving Organization and Training Agency.

Training Agency (10-15 hours per month)
- Development of training agenda, content, and related materials, attendance and facilitation of meeting and training process, overall coordination of Youth Philanthropy timeline, design and development of regional networking events between Youth Philanthropy communities, planning and communication with
Community Based Youth Serving Organization and Fiscal Sponsor.
Leading To Change has provided this onsite training support thanks to the financial support from NC Gives.
